Fall is a great season to build a capsule for. Layers do a lot of the work, and the colors of the season sit together without much effort. This is the Capsoire Fall 2026 capsule: sixteen pieces that mix into 28 outfits, from a weekday at the office to a night out.

The color story

The capsule is built on black, white and cream, warmed up with caramel and burgundy, plus classic dark denim. Black and white keep everything crisp. Caramel and burgundy bring the warmth fall is known for. Because every color goes with every other, almost any top works with any bottom.

If black feels too strong near your face, swap the black tops for navy or chocolate brown. The idea stays the same: a few shades that all go together.

The 16 pieces

Layers (2)

1. A caramel wrap coat. A soft wool-blend coat with a draped collar and a tie waist. Wear it belted or open, over jeans, pants, a skirt or the dress.

2. A black blazer. A relaxed, slightly oversized cut that works over a tee on the weekend and over silk in the evening.

Tops (5)

3. A white tee. A boxy crewneck in a fabric thick enough that it isn't see-through.

4. A white linen shirt. Crisp and breezy. Wear it alone, open over a tee, or with just the collar showing under a sweater.

5. A cream crewneck sweater. Soft and warm, in a shade that's gentle near the face.

6. A black turtleneck. Fine and fitted, so it layers under the blazer and coat without bulk.

7. A burgundy V-neck sweater. Your color moment. A V-neck lengthens the neckline and goes with everything else on this list.

8. Dark straight jeans. A deep rinse looks polished enough for many offices.

9. Black ponte pants. Straight-leg, with stretch. They feel like comfortable pants and look like tailoring.

Want more? Swap the loafers for boots when it rains. Wear the linen shirt open over the tee. Put the coat over the dress and tie it at the waist. Small changes like these make the same pieces feel new.

Making it yours

The list is a starting point. Adjust it for your body and your life.

• If you're an hourglass, tie the coat at the waist and tuck your sweaters into the jeans or skirt.
• If you're a pear, let the tops do the talking: the burgundy V-neck and the blazer draw the eye up, and the silk skirt skims rather than clings.
• If you're an apple, wear the blazer and coat open for a long line, and choose the V-neck and the linen shirt worn loose.
• If you're a rectangle, belt the coat, half-tuck the tee, and let the silk skirt add movement.
• If you're an inverted triangle, reach for the V-neck and the silk skirt, and keep the blazer for days when you wear it open.

If you're on a budget

You don't need to buy all sixteen at once, and you may already own several. Start with the almond loafers, the ankle boots and the black blazer. The loafers are in 11 of the 28 outfits, and the boots and blazer are in 9 each. When you need a bag, add the black tote, which is also in 11. Then fill the gaps one at a time.
